Bernstein Scores Four, But Kangs Fall in Lacrosse

Lake Washington rallies in the fourth quarter, but Skyline prevails 13-10.

 

SAMMAMISH – Brian Benz scored four goals to lead Skyline to a 13-10 boys high school lacrosse win Monday over Lake Washington, at Skyline High School in Sammamish.  The win evened the Spartans’ record at 1-1, while Lake Washington suffered its second loss against one win.

The Kangs got on the board early taking an early 2–1 lead at the end of the first, before Skyline came alive scoring seven second-quarter goals for an 8–3 halftime advantage.  In the second half, Skyline added four in the third to make it 12–5. The Kangs finally got their offense in gear in the fourth, but their five goals fell short, giving Skyline the win.

Cody Bernstein scored four goals and Ben Anderson netted three to lead Lake Washington.

Lake Washington (1-2-0) next faces Snohomish (2-0-0) Wednesday, March 21, in an 8 p.m. start at Lake Stevens High School.
