Also, Comcast has announced its fall On Demand lineup of marquee high school match-ups, and it includes the Sept. 16 Juanita vs. Mercer Island game. Locally, high school sports can be seen under the XFINITY On Demand menu by selecting Get Local and then Sports with your remote control. All of the action will be available within 72 hours after the games are played.

: Lake Washington started its season with a strange win over Garfield last Friday. With the Kangs holding a 14-0 lead early in the third quarter, a dispute over a fumble led to a Garfield coach being ejected and the Bulldogs forfeiting the game by walking off the field. Michael Wozeniak returned a kickoff 61 yards for a touchdown to help the Kangs to the win.

Next up for Lake Washington is Redmond, which struggled against Juanita in week one (see above). That game will be held at Redmond and will kick off at 7 pm.

GIRLS SOCCER

Juanita: The Lady Rebels begin their quest to return to the state tournament on Sept. 8 on the road against Inglemoor at 7:30 p.m. The defending KingCo 3A tournament champs finished 13-5-2 in 2010, making it to the first round of the state tournament. Juanita will also play on Sept. 10 at home against Ingraham at 5:00 pm.

Lake Washington: The Lake Washington program had a tough year in 2010, posting a 5-12 record while losing seven games by just one goal. The Kangs start the season on Sept. 7 at home against Eastlake at 7:30 pm and host Issaquah at the same time on September 8.
