Kangs Lacrosse Team Falls to Providence, 5-3

Lake Washington's record drops to 7-6; Next up: Eastside Catholic.

Ryan Morris scored two goals and goaltender David Wartes made 10 saves as Division 2 Providence Classical Christian School stunned Lake Washington 5-3 in boys high school lacrosse action Thursday on the Kangaroos' home field.

The win moved the tiny Lynwood school of just 189 students to within three games of Woodinville, the Division II Cascade Conference leader.

Carson Brown had a goal and four ground balls and Ben Anderson also netted a goal and grabbed three ground balls for the Division I Kangs.

Providence’s (8-1-0) only loss came in the season opener against Woodinville (11-0-0).  The two meet for the second time Friday in a 7 p.m. start at Woodinville High School. Lake Washington (7-6-0) next faces Eastside Catholic (10-4-0) on Wednesday, in an 8 p.m. start at Lake Washington.
