Mark Hoppen, Neighbor
- Gig Harbor, WA
I’m a long-time Gig Harbor resident, born in 1951, who grew up in a brick house next to my father’s boatshop at the foot of Stinson Avenue and Harborview Drive, a property my family sold in 1977. The boatshop and family house, once called Eddon Boat Company, are now the City of Gig Harbor’s Eddon Boat Park. To date, I have served nine local Puget Sound jurisdictions for 21 years as a municipal official, and prior, 16 years as a public educator. I’ve served as a city council member, city administrator, development services administrator, public works director, and chief operating officer of a local health jurisdiction. I’ve served on numerous local, regional, and state boards and committees, including jurisdictions, nonprofits and associations. Also, I’ve worked as a public school teacher, high school coach, and administrator, grades 5-12.
